A journalist, historian, and entrepreneur drawn to the lives behind the headline—and to the Hispanic history too often left outside the familiar account.
Marc Wilson worked for three daily newspapers and five bureaus of The Associated Press. He reported for the Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post, and Boulder Daily Camera, and later served as editor and publisher of Montana’s Bigfork Eagle.
With his wife and a partner, he bought the tiny weekly in Bigfork in 1983 and started the company that became TownNews—now BLOX Digital. He is chairman emeritus of the content-management company serving media organizations across North America. The Montana Newspaper Association honored Marc and his wife, Ginny, as Master Editor-Publishers.
Marc and his wife live in Northern Colorado. His lifelong interest in journalism and writing began in a high-school journalism class and has carried him from daily newsrooms to deeply researched works of history and historical fiction.

Reporting the past
with urgency.
Marc studied graduate-level American frontier history at the University of Colorado under historian Dr. Robert Athern, whose teaching inspired his own study of the past. That academic grounding, paired with decades spent confirming facts and listening closely to people, shapes every book.
His nonfiction reconstructs a community’s sacrifice through letters, photographs, interviews, and military records. His historical fiction uses the documented past as its foundation while shifting the point of view toward the Taíno people who bore the cost of Columbus’s ambitions.
